SHANGRI-LA OOLONG
** This month's Tea Sommelier's choice is Shangri-La Oolong Tea!
Shangri- la Oolong is an extra special tea from Nepal; a cross between a light black tea and a dark roasted oolong.
It’s part of an exciting new wave of teas to come out of Nepal in recent years that’s inspired by tea making practices in China and Taiwan. It brews a slightly spicy peppery cup with plum and honey notes.
Made by the Kanchanjangha Tea Estate in the Eastern Nepali Himalayas. Oolongs are a relatively new generation of teas in South Asia, combining traditional regional practices with inspiration from China and Taiwan.
This particular tea is a unique creation, a cross between a light black tea and a dark roasted Chinese oolong. It makes a spicy full-bodied cup with biscuity and peppery aromas. Flavours of plums, baked goods and honey develop over multiple infusions.
Treat yourself or the tea lover in your life.
